Helios is a VR-focused open world sandbox action-adventure game released in 2021 by relatively unknown indie publishers. While it has some social and sandbox elements, it isn't widely recognized or widely covered in major gaming circles. As an indie VR title, especially outside major VR hits, the active daily player base likely remains quite small, in the low hundreds.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is a classic MMORPG launched in 2011 by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. Although it had a large player base at launch, the numbers have declined over the years, especially since it's now over a decade old and several expansions have come and gone. However, it still maintains a loyal core community thanks to regular content updates and the strength of the Star Wars IP. As an MMORPG, it does meet the MMO criteria with a persistent online world and the ability to interact with thousands of players simultaneously.
