Throne and Liberty is a high-profile MMORPG released in December 2023 by NCsoft (a well-known MMO developer) and Amazon Games. Despite substantial pre-launch hype, launch interest was somewhat tempered by mixed reviews and typical new MMO volatility. However, as a new AAA MMO with cross-platform play and heavy marketing, it currently retains a sizable daily playerbase, likely around 120,000–180,000 DAP, so a conservative estimate is 150,000. Player engagement will likely diminish over the next year without substantial content updates.

Scum is a multiplayer open-world survival game developed by Gamepires and originally entered Early Access in 2018. While it is not a full MMO, it supports servers with dozens of players (up to 64 per server). The game maintains a niche but dedicated following and is frequently updated; however, it has never reached large mainstream status. Based on long-term trends of similar survival games, its daily active player base is estimated to be in the low thousands, and this estimate would hold unless a major relaunch or expansion revitalized the player base.
