EverQuest II is a classic MMORPG released in 2004 by Daybreak Game Company. While its player base is much smaller than at launch, it retains a niche, loyal following thanks to regular expansions and ongoing updates. As one of the older MMOs still operational, daily active players are estimated to be in the low thousands, with population boosts during major events or new expansion launches.

Ashes of Creation is a highly anticipated fantasy MMORPG developed by Intrepid Studios. Although its official release date is listed as late 2023, as of mid-2024 it is still in active alpha/beta testing phases rather than full launch. While there is considerable interest and a strong community, access is limited to testers and supporters, which restricts active daily players to the low tens of thousands, not hundreds of thousands. Interest is high, but without a full public launch, numbers remain modest.
