Mist Legacy is an indie fantasy RPG developed and published by Virtys, released in late 2021. As a niche indie title, its player base was likely modest at launch and has seen typical post-launch decline. Sustained by a small but loyal community, estimated daily players are now likely in the low thousands. Indie RPGs of this nature with persistent online elements rarely exceed 2,000–3,000 daily players after two years post-launch unless they have major breakout success.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is a classic MMORPG launched in 2011 by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. Although it had a large player base at launch, the numbers have declined over the years, especially since it's now over a decade old and several expansions have come and gone. However, it still maintains a loyal core community thanks to regular content updates and the strength of the Star Wars IP. As an MMORPG, it does meet the MMO criteria with a persistent online world and the ability to interact with thousands of players simultaneously.
