The Mana World is a very small, open-source 2D MMORPG that has existed for many years. While it has a dedicated community, its active daily player base is very modest, typically between a few dozen and just over a hundred on a good day. Its retro presentation, lack of commercial publisher, and open-source nature mean it has never achieved mainstream popularity.
