Star Wars: The Old Republic is a classic MMORPG launched in 2011 by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. Although it had a large player base at launch, the numbers have declined over the years, especially since it's now over a decade old and several expansions have come and gone. However, it still maintains a loyal core community thanks to regular content updates and the strength of the Star Wars IP. As an MMORPG, it does meet the MMO criteria with a persistent online world and the ability to interact with thousands of players simultaneously.

Outriders is a co-op looter-shooter released in 2021 by People Can Fly and published by Square Enix. While it had a strong launch, concurrent player numbers have declined significantly since release. The game is not an MMO, as it centers around instanced co-op play (groups of up to three), not a persistent open world with massive players. Based on trends typical for similar games 2-3 years post-launch, estimated daily active players are in the low thousands across all platforms.
