Unturned is a free-to-play zombie survival game that launched in 2017 and is well known for its indie origins and dedicated fanbase. Despite its age, it maintains a moderate playerbase because of its accessible gameplay, mod support, and frequent updates from the developer. On Steam, it typically sees several thousand concurrent players daily, making a 30,000 daily active player estimate reasonable when accounting for total logins across all platforms. However, it does not meet MMO criteria: most servers support dozens of players, not hundreds or thousands in a persistent world.
