Ashes of Creation is a highly anticipated fantasy MMORPG developed by Intrepid Studios. Although its official release date is listed as late 2023, as of mid-2024 it is still in active alpha/beta testing phases rather than full launch. While there is considerable interest and a strong community, access is limited to testers and supporters, which restricts active daily players to the low tens of thousands, not hundreds of thousands. Interest is high, but without a full public launch, numbers remain modest.

The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War is a licensed mobile RTS/strategy game by NetEase, released in late 2021. While initial launch interest was strong thanks to the IP and solid marketing, typical player retention for mobile strategy games stabilizes at a lower active base over time. NetEase titles perform well in Asian and international markets but generally see gradual decline after 2-3 years.
