Battle for the Galaxy is a free-to-play online strategy game that launched in 2019, published by a mid-sized indie studio (AMT Games). Its gameplay style is similar to classic base-building strategy MMOs, but it has not had major cultural impact and is several years old. While it likely retains a niche player base, most indie strategy titles of this age have dropped from peak popularity. An estimate around 10,000–20,000 daily players is reasonable for its genre and scale.
Players are offered to create or join corporations (groups of up to fifty people), which provide them with permanent bonuses to make defensive and offensive gameplay of a player easier and allow him to participate in a corporate war.
