Agar.io is a massively multiplayer online game where players control a cell in a colorful, grid-like environment. The main goal is to grow your cell by consuming smaller cells scattered throughout the map, while avoiding being eaten by larger cells controlled by other players.

Agar.io was a viral browser-based multiplayer game at launch (2015) and still maintains a niche but loyal playerbase thanks to its easy accessibility and simplicity. After nearly a decade, it is past its peak, but its web/mobile presence and brand recognition (Miniclip publisher) help it retain tens of thousands of daily active users across all platforms. Not an MMO: matches are limited in size and the world is not persistent.
