Ingress VS The Isle

Ingress, developed by Niantic and originally supported by Google, was a highly influential AR mobile game released in 2013. While it was extremely innovative and had a strong global community at launch, its player base has significantly declined after the launch of Pokémon GO (also by Niantic) and competing mobile AR titles. The game still maintains a dedicated niche audience, especially for in-person events, but most estimates suggest a current daily active player base under 25,000 globally.

The Isle is a multiplayer dinosaur survival game released in 2015. Despite being from an indie developer, it maintains a dedicated community due to its unique premise and frequent updates. However, as an 8-year-old early access title, its active player base is much smaller than peak numbers but remains above many indie survival games thanks to niche appeal and ongoing development.
